The Dreamwork Project is my dream project that has been with me ever since I was a young kid. It started out as a dream to one day be able to release an album of self-created music. The first sign of the album was in the mid-2000s when I started to plan an album in Norwegian called «1001 Natt» (1001 nights) based on the songs I had at the time. As time went by I changed my mind and the project shifted towards an English-speaking album. This resulted in that several of the songs got new titles and English lyrics, some songs even changed English titles more than once as I tried to find the right theme for the melodies.
The project started out for real when I contacted the album producer on mail 13th August 2018 and asked if he could mix the demo songs the vocalist and I had recorded. The next day he answered me back that he could do that and we set up our first meeting Thursday 16th August 2018. The producer listened to the three demos we had done and he said that he also could produce the songs. In the meeting we agreed to take one test song to see how it would work out and the choice landed on the song «Gimme your heart».
«Gimme your heart», the first song recorded for the project, was recorded Tuesday 4th September 2018 at Producer Inge Engelsvold´s studio at Tinfabrikken, Stavanger, Norway. The last two songs recorded for the album project, «Unemployed/Brighter future» and «World 2day», were recorded at producer Inge Engelvold´s new studio at Tou Lyd Friday 28th February 2020. The Dreamwork album was mastered and completed 8th February 2021 by Morgan Nicolaysen at Propeller Mastering, Oslo, Norway.
During the process of the Dreamwork album I found out that I also wanted to do an EP in addition to the album. After some thinking I decided I wanted another producer on the EP project to get another sound and to be able to work with different music producers. I searched high and low both in my home city of Stavanger and throughout Norway and decided on Norsk Lydstudio in Mjøndalen, Norway, as my next collaborator. The first mail from me was sent to them Tuesday 17th March 2020 and the first test song, «Music on my mind» (which during the process changed name to «Sunny day»), was sent Wednesday 25th March 2020. The vocals for all five songs on the «Summer EP» were recorded in Mjøndalen, Norway, Wednesday 21th July – Friday 23th July 2021.
